A tradition of Coyettes pride.

The story of Anna’s drill team reaches back to the 1950s. Across the decades, students have taken the floor under different names—including Pep Squad, Majorettes, Starlighters, and Coyettes. Each group holds a place in the tradition we share today.

A tradition renewed

The Coyettes name took hold in the early 2000s. After years without a consistent drill team, the program was reestablished in 2022, carrying its legacy of school spirit into a new chapter.

Today, Coyettes dancers continue to build that legacy through teamwork, technical growth, community involvement, and pride in Anna. The program’s JV team gives dancers another opportunity to develop their skills and be part of the tradition.
